Convergys to hire 200 in Hazelwood

Convergys Corp. plans to hire 200 people at its sales center in Hazelwood. The new employees will provide outbound sales support for a client in the landscaping industry.

Cincinnati-based Convergys (NYSE: CVG), led by President and Chief Executive Jeff Fox, is the second-largest employer in Hazelwood — behind Boeing — with 1,215 employees.

“This will have a positive impact because adding that many new jobs is like bringing in another major business into our community,” Mayor Matthew Robinson said in a statement. “The addition … is a positive sign that our economy is rebounding from our nation’s deepest recession.
