Greater St. Louis, which spans the Missouri-Illinois border, offers a dynamic commercial real estate market with seven distinct submarkets. At the end of 2011, the 16-county region maintained approximately 129 million square feet of office space and over 260 million square feet of industrial space.

Construction in Greater St. Louis remained strong throughout 2011. During the year, approximately 610,000 square feet of new office space was completed, and on the industrial side, there was close to 46,000 square feet of new industrial space completed (1).
